Escape routes and escape stairs as modules
With the Pacarada Modular Building System, external escape stairs and escape routes can be built as prefabricated modules. They are built in a factory in Germany and set against the building in a short time. The building can usually stay in use.
What the system does for your building
- A second escape route: When a building is converted or gets extra storeys, another escape route is often required. An external escape stair can be the solution, usually without major changes to the floor plans. Whether it is accepted as an escape route is decided by the fire safety concept and the building authority.
- Quick to install: The stair arrives prefabricated and is erected and connected on site.
- Adapted to your building: The modules are adapted to the storey heights and exits of the building.
- Demountable: Bolted connections allow later changes.

The system behind it: made in Germany
The Pacarada Modular Building System comes from Kelkheim (Taunus) and is made in Germany. At its core is the Cube, an internationally patented steel connection node. All components are bolted and plugged together at it, from a single beam to a finished room module. Steel, timber and concrete can be combined. Frequently asked questions
When does a building need an additional escape stair?
The fire safety concept defines this, often for a change of use, added storeys or a higher number of occupants. Specialist designers and the building authority decide.
Can an escape stair be retrofitted to an existing building?
Yes. The modules stand on the outside of the building. Where the exits are and what foundations the stair needs is checked in advance.
How long does installation take?
Work on site is short because the stair is prefabricated in the factory.
